Living in the Now

Living in the Now

Did you see that?
Just as the yellow mountain sank
it spat up a glimpse
of that in-between
where just now blinks
into just about.

This thinnest slice
contains the Pacific Ocean,
its million waves
sneaking up on shores.

A sixteenth note
wherein Beethoven composed
a moonlit lament
for lovers lost at sea.

The master, mixing his lightfast colors of experience.
The hero, shouldering the heavy door of imminence.

Just spare me one more,
this one last glimpse,
to peak over the horizon,
to sip the last of the orange tea.
